What Is Good, Clean, and Fair? Panel Discussion of the Choices We Make

SAFN member and food and environmental anthropologist Mark Anthony Arceño will be hosting a panel discussion next Wednesday, June 15th, from 12-1pm EST, focusing on food and food choices that individuals and communities make with respect to the meat industry. Participants are encouraged to watch (for free) artist and filmmaker Zev Robinson’s 38-minute documentary, “The Scottish Breed,” in advance of the discussion.

Joining Zev and Mark Anthony on the panel are Nicolette Hahn Niman (rancher and author of ‘Defending Beef’), Denise Walton (of Peelham Farms, who is interviewed in the documentary), Vicki Hird (head of the Sustainable Farming Campaign for Sustain: The Alliance for Better Food and Farming, and author of ‘Rebugging the Planet’), and Garrett Broad (associate professor in the Department of Communication and Media Studies at Fordham University, and author of ‘More than Just Food: Food Justice and Community Change’).
