SAFN member Ellen Messer has written to us here at SAFN World Headquarters about the virtual International Conference on the Anthropology of Food and Nutrition happening this fall. Her note and the relevant links are below. Most importantly: the deadline for submissions has been extend to July 18…which is in 4 days!

From Dr. Messer:

I would like to draw your attention to an upcoming all-virtual ICAF (International Conference on the Anthropology of Food and Nutrition) conference on

FISH AS FOOD: LIFESTYLE AND A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

All-virtual conference hosted by the University of Liverpool, 1-3 September 2021.

The website with all the up-to-date information can be accessed at: http://www.icaf2021.uk .

Papers will be presented via Zoom, and the organisers will do their best to find time spots on the UK-timed programme to accommodate speakers from different time zones.

The conference planners are enthusiastic and pleased to include participants from a wide geographic area on a wide range of topics,  and have extended the deadline to allow late submissions (through July 18) (see Home page and contact pages at http://www.icaf2021.uk, the website above).  They look forward to participation by SAFN members exploring the many dimensions of fish in diet and culture, lifestyle and sustainable futures.
